Artist Biography: Roberta Forbes

Having grown up in San Francisco, the daughter of a renowned Carpenter, who also happened to be the chief Preparator of the De Young and Legion of Honor Museums for over 44 years, as well as having a Mother whose talents included Interior Design and being an accomplished Seamstress, it was inevitable that Ms. Forbes would one day find herself working in the world of Antiques and Collectibles and giving new life to pieces she lovingly restores!

While living in the Santa Cruz Mountains, from 1983-2004, Ms. Forbes owned and operated an Antiques Shop in the picturesque town of Felton, where the Forbes’ raised their family of 2 boys. During her time in Felton, Ms. Forbes assisted with Estate Sales and Auctions, as well as, refinishing furniture for her clients. She also decorated client’s homes for the Holidays for many years.

After moving to the Auburn area, Ms. Forbes, continued her business venture of running Estate Sales, refinishing and painting furniture. When the opportunity to become a tenant here at The Painted Peacock availed itself, she happily jumped at the chance! Ms. Forbes continues with her passion of working with Linens, Restoring Antiques and Repurposing items of distinction. She is also available to help with your silk floral needs for that special occasion.
